About Me
Hello, I am Jerson, a senior at the University of California San Diego majoring in Interdiciplinary Computing In the Arts under the music department with a minor in Computer Science. I Draw inspiration from a diverse range of influences including rock, J-pop, K-rock, metal, classical and latin music to create immersive auditory experiences that transport listeners into dream-like worlds.
My compositions blend real-life sounds with electronic elements, showcasing my expertise in sound design and audio manipulation. Beyond my electronic compositions, I am also proficient in playing traditional instruments. My versatility allows me to seamlessly switch between electronic and acoustic performances, highlighting my wide-ranging musical abilities.
My commitment to my craft is reflected in my performances with my band, The Arkangels, where I skillfully merge my technical knowledge and musical talent. Whether I'm playing original compositions or delivering captivating covers, my passion for music shines through, earning me a dedicated following. My outstanding drumming skills were recognized by the UC San Diego Musicians Club, where I was awarded Best Drummer, underscoring my versatility and excellence in musicianship.
I have also done session work for various artists, including Earfall, Teddy Moisa, among others, further demonstrating my adaptability and skill. My music often explores darker and scarier sounds, creating an emotional depth that resonates with listeners. My ability to weave narratives through sound sets me apart as a musician who not only entertains but also provokes thought and reflection.
My Skills
- Digital Audio Workstation Proficiency: Fluent in Reaper, Ableton Live, Studio One, and some knoweledge of Pro Tools, with hands-on experience in setting up and optimizing audio workflows.
- Strong understanding of audio signal processing techniques including: Mixing, Compression, EQ, and effects processing.
- Experience in recording, editing, and processing voiceover tracks tailored for theater productions
- Familiarity with version control software (Perforce and GIT) to collaborate within development teams.
